Magickal Herbs
Covering the face of this magnificent and marvelous planet we experience life upon, we find an abundance of herbs. With so many herbs to choose from, one can, understandably, become mystified as to which herb or herbs necessary to accomplish the desired effect or outcome. However, more than ever before, Americans are showing an interest in using herbs and botanical preparations for treating injuries and ailments. Many people are also becoming part of a "back to the earth" movement, which involves using natural fibers, eating healthier foods, recycling, and practicing natural healing methods that have long been used by people practicing Wicca and/or Witchcraft.
Did you know that drinking rosebud tea before bed will induce prophetic dreams? Or that carrying a bag of orris root will attract love? Herb magick may very well be the most ancient form of magick, especially considering that the tools we need to preform herb magick are growing all around us. Throughout time, wise women and healers, have created medicines composed of plants. The first offerings to the goddesses and gods that watched over early peoples were composed of plants. As a matter of fact, herbs were used for healing and magick long before they were used as seasonings. The Witches and the Wise Ones all knew the magickal use of herbs. They used herbs in potions, incenses and amulets to ward off evil, attract prosperity, protect children and women in labor, and to heal illnesses.
Together we will discover a treasure trove of herb wisdom and lore that has been forgotten by many, but will never completely disappear.
